Followingourtheoreticalanalysisonthe“sequentialorder”rulesingeneralizedtwo-dimensional(2D)correlationspectroscopy(Huang,H.Anal.Chem.2007,79,8281-8292),anexperimentalstudywasconductedtotestthe“sequentialorder”rules.Thefindingsrevealedthatdifferentintegratedoroverallsequentialorderscouldbeobtainedbyselectionofdifferentsamplingintervalswiththesamelocalsequentialorder,orchoosingsamedatasetbutwithdifferentcontour(calculation)levels.Theseintegratedoroverallsequentialordersobtainedfromgeneralized2Dcorrelationspectroscopymayormaynotbeidenticaltothelocalsequentialorder,whichreflectstherealsequentialorderbetweentwoeventsingeneralizedsituations.Inaddition,2Dcorrelationanalysisalwaysgeneratestheintegratedoroverallsequentialorderoftwoeventsevenwithnolocalsequentialorder.Cautionmustbeemployedwiththeapplicationofgeneralized2Dcorrelationspectroscopywhilederivingsequentialordersforanytwoevents. |
