Fivenewnaphthalene-containingglucosederivativesweredesignedandprepared.Thecompoundswithspacerscontaininghydrazine,ethylenediamine,1,3-propanediamine,1,4-butanediamineor1,6-hexanediaminearedenotedas1,2,3,4,5,respectively.Gelationtestrevealedthatasubtlechangeinthespacercanproduceadramaticchangeinthegelationbehaviorsofthesecompoundsandthemicrostructuresofthegels,asdemonstratedbySEMandXRDmeasurements.
