Itwasproven1,2thatthetrans-cisisomerizationofazobenzenecouldbeused,withtheilluminationofexternallight,tocontroltheJ-aggregationof-aryl/alkoxy-substitutedzincphthalocyanines(Pcs).Inthepresentstudy,weattemptedtoapplythismechanismintomakingnano-scalepatternsonthesurfaces.Threeazobenzene-substitutedzincPcswithalkoxychainsofdifferentlengthattachedtoazobenzenemoietyweresynthesized.
