Cross-linkedpolyolefinelastomercompoundsareusedinawidevarietyofapplicationswherethepartmustretaingoodflexibilityandelasticitywhileexposedtoarangeoftemperaturesoveralongperiodoftime.Examplesincludewireandcablejacketing,industrialorautomotivebelts,hoses,seals,andgaskets.Thesecompoundsoftencontainasubstantialamountofmineraloil,whichactsbothasprocessingaidandplasticizer.Initsroleasaplasticizer,how-ever,thislowmolecularweightfluidisanessentialingredientfortailoringtheoverallbalanceofphysicalpropertiesthatarecriticaltotheperformanceofthefinalproduct.
