Themainfactorsthataffectthecrimpconfigurationandperformanceofside-by-sidebicomponentfiberincludedtheratioofelasticmodulusanddifferentialshrinkagebetweentwocomponents,thecross-sectionalshapeoffiberandthecomponentsdistribution.Inthisstudy,theelasticmodulusratioofPTT(Polytrimethyleneterephthalate)andPET(Polyethyleneterephthalate)componentswasobtainedbythestress-straincurvesofthreePTT/PETfiberswithdifferentcross-sectionalshapesandcross-sectionalareasofthecomponents.Inaddition,crimpcurvatureexpressionsofthethreefibersweredevelopedbythemeasuredcross-sectionaldataoffiberstogetthedifferentialshrinkagebetweenPTTandPETcomponentsintheirconjugatedfibers.
