Basiccharacteristicsofbasaltfibresaredescribed.Themainaimofthisstudyistotestthetensilepropertiesofbasaltfilamentyarn,andanalysetheeffectofthetensilepropertiesofbasaltfilamentyarnonweaveprocess.Thetensilepropertiesofbasaltfilamentyarnandkevlar49filamentyarnweremeasuredbyInstron.Thecomparativeanalysisofthetensilepropertiesofbasaltfilamentyarnandkevlar49filamentyarn,andproductiondifficultyonweaveprocesswerediscussed.Explorepossibilitythatreplacekevlar49armourwithbasaltfilamentyarn.Basedonthecomparativeanalysisofmeasurementdata,putforwardtheideatoreplacepartiallykevlar49armourwithbasaltfilamentyarn,andsothatextendapplicationfieldsofbasaltfilamentyarn.
