Inthisresearch,terephthaloylchloride(TPC)solutionwithdifferentconcentrationwasusedtomodifythesurfaceofTechnorafibers.Thefibersbeforeandaftertreatmentwerecharacterizedwithscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),tensilemeasurement,infraredspectroscopy,interfacialshearstrength(IFSS)andcapillaryimmersion.FromtheSEMmicrographs,theTPCtreatedfibershavearoughersurfacethanthatofuntreatedfiber.ThetensilestrengthofTechnorafiberappreciablydecreaseswiththeincreaseofconcentrationofTPC.TheIFSSofthefiber/epoxycompositeandimmergencelengthinMethylenebluesolutionweremeasured.TheresultsshowthattheIFSSandimmergencelengthofthetreatedsamplecanbeimproved.
