Spunlacenonwovenfabricismainlyusedasmedicalproducts,consumerandindustrialwipeandsubstratesforartificialleatherwithrelativelyhighabsorptionabilities,softness,drape,conformabilityandhighstrength.PETfiber,oneofthecommonrawmaterialsforwovenandnonwovenfabrics,hasexcellentphysicalpropertiesandeconomicalproperties,butPETishardtobeprocessedbythespunlacenonwovenprocessandtheresultantnonwovenfabricishydrophobic.TheobjectiveofthispaperistogetPETspunlacenonwovenfabricwithgoodhydrophilicpropertiesandmechanicalpropertiesbyhydrophilicfinishingPETfiberswithdifferentmethods.TwokindsofhydrophilicPETfiberswereobtainedbystickinganaqueoussolutiontothesurfaceofPETfibers.TheresultsshowedthatPETspunlacenonwovenswithbetterhydrophilicpropertiesandmechanicalpropertiescouldbemaintainedbyusinghighercontentofPETfibersandhighercoefficientoffriction.
