Electricallyconductivefibers(ECF)areprospectivestretchsensorfordetectingofdangerousdeformation.ECFreinforcedconcretehastheself-diagnoseabilityondamageandthissmartconcretecandetectdangerousdeformationsrealtime.AmongalltheECF,carbonfibersreinforcedconcretehasattractedmoreattention.However,highmodulusofcarbonfibermakesitdifficulttoassessthedeformationininelasticregime.Inthispaper,anoveldissolving-coatingmethodforpreparingECFisdesignedandpolycaprolactam(PA6)fiberscoatedwithantimony-dopedTinoxide(ATO)wasprepared.TheATOcoatedPA6fibershavelowervolumeresistance,lowermodulusandplasticity,whichmakefiberssensebothelasticandinelasticdeformation.TheelectromechanicalbehaviorofATOcoatedPA6fiberswereinvestigatedandthetenso-resistivemodelisderivedthatcorrelatestheresistancechangewithappliedstrain.TheexperimentaldatafortensilestrainisingoodagreementwiththeoreticalequationsderivedfrommodelandthemodelprovidesatheoreticalbasisfortheanalysisanddesignofsmartconcretefilledwithATOcoatedPA6fibers.
