Inthispaper,inorganicviscosenano-compositefiber(VNCF)waspreparedviaaddinginorganicflameretardant,suchassilicate,intoviscosesolutionwhichwasthenregeneratedincoagulatingbathandposttreatedwithcrosslinkreagent.ThemicrographsanddistributionofimorganicflameretardantinVNCFwasinvestigated,andtheresultsrevealedthattheflameretardantwasuniformlydistributedintheinnerpartofVNCFinthescaleof5-10nm.TheincorporationofinorganicflameretardantintoVNCFdecreasedtheheatreleaserate(HRR),effectivecombustionheat(ECH)anddegradationrateduringcombustioninCONE.ThecombustionresiduecharofVNCFincreased,whichwasfavourforflameretardancy.Inorganicflameretardantactsincondensephaseduringcombustion.
