Low-temperatureplasmatreatmentisakindofenvironmentallyfriendlysurfacemodificationtechnology.Thistechnologyhasbeenwidelyusedtomodifyvariousmaterials.Inthisstudy,coldgasplasmawasusedtotreatpolypropylene(PP)fibers.Theeffectsofplsamatreatmentonthesurfacemorphologyandwettabilitywerecharacterizedusingatomicforcemicroscopy(AFM)andcontactanglemeasurment.TheAFMobservationsrevealedthechangesinthesurfacemorphologycausedbyplasmatreatment.Thewettabilityofthefibreswascharacterizedthroughmeasuringthesurfacecontactangleswiththedynamiccontactangles(DCA)basedontheWilhelmyprinciplewasperformed.TheDCAtechniqueindicatedthedynamiccontactanglesofafibre.Therelationshipbetweenthecontactangleandthesurfacemorphologywasanalysed.
