Oneoftheroomtemperatureionicliquids(RTILs),1-butyl-3-methylimidazoliumchloride(BMIM-Cl)waschosentopreparetheconcentratedsolutionsofPAN.Therheologicalbehaviorsofthesolutionsweremeasuredwithrotationalrheometryunderdifferentconditions,includingtemperatures,concentration,andmolecularweightofPAN.Thesolutionsexhibitedshear-thinningbehaviors,similartothatofPAN/molecularsolventssolutions.Theviscositydecreasedwithincreasingshearrates.However,whentheconcentrationwasupto16wt%,athighshearratestheviscositywoulddecreasedramatically.Thedependenceoftemperaturewasanalyzedthroughthedeterminationoftheapparentactivationenergy.Theηdecreasedwhentheshearratesincreased.Athighshearrates,theviscosityoflowmolecularEweightPANwashigherthanhighmolecularweightPAN.
