Solidpolymerelectrolytes(SPEs)arepotentialsaferalternativestoliquidelectrolytesinLi-ionbatteries,becauseSPEsaresafety,flexibility,andmanufacturabilitythanliquid.Despitetheiradvantagesinsafetyandstabilityofbatteries,SPEsarechallengedbytheirlowconductivity.Theadditionofnano-scalefillersareknowntoimprovenotonlytheionconductivity,butalsothemechanicalstabilityandstrength.Althoughgraphenenanosheetshavebeenusedasfillersforpolymersinpolymerapplications,theyhavenotyetbeenusedinpolymerelectrolytesinLi-ionbatteries.Inthisstudy,weshowhowtofindproperstructuredesignandmorphologytailoringofthepolymer-functionalizedgraphenetooptimizedcompositepolymerelectrolytes(CPEs).TheionictransferconditionsincludingdissociationofLisalt,amorphouscontentandsegmentalmobilityinCPEswereimprovedbyincorporatingpolymerFGandespecialinpolymer-FGcombiningionicliquid(IL)structureandpolymerbrusharchitecture.Suchpolymer-FGhavingPILbrushsignificantlyincreasestheLiionconductivityofPEO/Li+polymerelectrolytemorethan20rdermagnitudeandalmost20timesat300Cand600Cinionconductivity,respectively.Webelievethatembeddingminimalamountofthepolymer-FGnano-fillerswithproperstructureandmorphologycouldleadtothedevelopmentofanewgenerationofCPEswithhighionicconductivityandhighperformanceLi-ionbatteries.
