Thebulkpropertiesofthepolymerscanbealteredsignificantlybyincorporationofdifferentadditives[1].Theadditivesareincorporatedasprocessaid(0.1-2phr,phr=partsperhundredofbasepolymer),antidegradant(0.2-1phr),reinforcingfiller(20-60phr),flameretardant(5-20phr),curingagent(1-50phr),etc.toimproveprocessability；durability；strength；flammability；dimensionalstability,etc.ofthevirginpolymers[2].Someconventionalsmallmolecularadditivesmaysufferfromseriousproblemslikeleaching,migration,volatility,compatibility,physicaldilution,whichmayadverselyaffectthemanypropertiesofthebasepolymers[3].Somacromolecularadditivesarepreferredovertheseconventionaladditivestoeliminateaboveallundesirableproblems.
