Thispapershowsnano-scalephenomenarelevanttopolymerprocessing.Itisorganizedinfoursections.Itfirstaddressesthedynamicsofpolymerchainsinconfinedgeometriesandshowsthatincontrarytointuitiononemayhave,polymerchainsmaydiffusemuchfasterinconfinedgeometriesthaninthebulk.Itthenattemptstoshadelightsonextruderprocessingofpolymernanocomposites.Understandingofthedynamicsofpolymerchainsinconfinedgeometrieshelpstoachievethegoal.Thethirdsectionisconcernedwiththeuseofnano-objectsasnano-reactors.Anexampleisgiventoshowhowonemaytaketheadvantageofnano-reactorstoimprovereactionyieldand/orreactionselectivity.Thelastsectiondealswithreactionkineticsatpolymer-polymerinterfaces,averyimportantissueinreactivepolymerblendingprocesses.
