Woodflour(WF)wasgraftedwithsilanecouplingagent.Intercalatedmontmorillonitewasmodifiedwithsilaneasorganophilicmontmorillonite（OMMT）.Theyweremelt-blendedandextrudedintoOMMT/WF/PVCwood–plasticcompositesamples.TheeffectsoftheinterfacemodificationandthecontentsofOMMTandWFonthecompositemechanicalpropertieswereinvestigated.Thegraftingimprovestheinterfacialcompliancebetweencomponentsandresultshigherpropertiesofthenanocomposites.OMMTcanreinforcethecompositesagain.However,thethickerinterfaciallayerisweakandstress-concentratedimpairingthecompositepropertieswhenthecontentsofOMMTorcouplingagentarehigher.
