Theeffectsoflowmolecularweightcomponentoncrystallizationbehaviorsofpolyphenylenesulfide(PPS)wereinvestigatedinthispaper.ThethermalpropertiesofPPSsampleswhichblendwithdifferentpercentageoflowmolecularweightcomponentwasanalyzedbydifferentialscanningcalorimetry(DSC).TheresultsindicatedthatthecrystallizationofPPScanbeobviouslyeffectedbythepresentofthelowmolecularweightcomponent.BothlowandhightemperaturecrystallizationprocessofPPScanbestimulatedbythelowmolecularweightcomponentwhichmayservedasplasticizingagentandhastenPPSmolecularmovementduringlowtemperaturecrystallizationandactasnucleatingagentduringhightemperaturecrystallization. |
