Nanogapelectrodes(namely,electrodeswithnanometergap)arefundamentalbuildingblocksforthefabricationofnanometersizeddevicesandcircuits.1Moreover,theyarealsoimportanttoolsfortheexaminationofmaterialspropertiesatnanometerscale,evenatmolecularlevel.Devicesbasedonnanogapelectrodeshavethepotentialabilityofrealizingsuperintegratedcircuits,soaremorelikelyusedinpracticalapplications.Moreover,asmostofnanogapelectrodespresentplanarconfiguration,itwouldbeeasiertotaketheunderlyingsubstrateasagatecontacttotunetheelectricalpropertiesofthemolecularcomponents.
