Singlemoleculespectroscopyisapowerfultechniquetoinvestigatephoto-physicalprocessesandenergytransferwithinindividualconjugatedpolymersandsmallaggregates.ForPPVderivativepolymerssuchasMEH-PPVandDOO-PPVconsiderableworkhasbeendoneincharacterizingtheirbehaviorthroughbulkmeasurements.InthispaperwewillreviewtheinsightsgainedfromtheworkofthegroupofFannWunshain,startingfirstwithsingleshortchainpolymersin1999,movingontolongerchainpolymersandfinallyintroducingrecentworkintothesignificanteffectoftheembeddingmediumonthefluorescencelifetimeandquantumefficiencyofextendedpolymerchains.
