Overthepasttwodecades,polyesterssuchaspolycaprolactone(PCL),polylactide(PLA)andtheircopolymershaveattractedagreatdealofattentionbecauseoftheirvastpotentialapplicationsinmanybiomedicalandpharmaceuticalfields[l].Manymetalcomplexeshavebeenreportedtobeeffectivecatalysts/initiatorsthatcatalyzeROPoflactones/lactidesgivingpolymerswithbothhighandcontrolledmolecularweights[2].Previously,wehavebeenreportedthatthemagnesiumalkoxidesderivedfromtheNNO-ketiminateligandsaregoodinitiatorstowardthecontrolledpolymerizationoflactidesandexhibitthehighstereoselectivitywithaPrupt087%[3l.Asaresult,wereporthereinthesynthesisandcharacterizationofaseriesofmagnesiumcomplexesbasedonNNO-tridentateketiminateligandswithpyrazolesubstituentsofdifferentelectronicproperties.Themolecularstructuresofcomplexes[Mg2(OBn)2L2]revealdimericfeatures.Furthermore,heterolepticbimetallicmagnesiumcomplexesshowhighactivity(forexample:[Mg2(OBn)2L‘2]within20min,300C)andstereoselectivity(Prupt085%)inthering-openingpolymerizationoflactidesproducinghighmolecularweightpolymersofnarrowPDIrangingl.06-1.15with>90%conversion.
