Itwasacceptedthatepoxyshouldbecuredunderlowtemperaturewiththesamepropertiesasthosecuredunderhightemperature,whichwasanidealroutetoimprovetheprocessabilityandperformanceofcomposite.Thehyperbranchedpolyesters(HBPs)with2-methylimidazoleasacorewerepreparedandusedascuringagentsandtoughenersofdiglycidyletherofbisphenolA(DGEBA)inthiswork.ItwasfoundthatthetensilestrengthofepoxythermosetsincludingHBPscuredunder80℃(CYD-128/CA1)wasclosewiththatofCYD-128/DDSthermosetcuredunder120℃,buttheirflexuralstrengthandimpactstrengthweremuchhigherthanthoseofCYD-128/DDSthermoset,whichindicatedthatepoxycuringsystemcuredunderlowtemperaturehadbetterpropertiesasthosecuredunderhightemperature,andtheadditionofHBPsinthethermosetobviouslyincreasedthefracturetoughness.ItwasconcludedthattheCYD-128/CA1thermosetcuredat80℃waspropertobeusedincompositeasresinmatrix.
