Aserialsofnewreactivethermotropicliquidcrystallinepolymer-methacryloylcopolymers(LCMC)containingpolyestermesogenicunitswithdifferentrelativemolecularweightweresynthesizedandcharacterized.TheLCMC/glassfiber(GF)/unsaturatedpolyester(UP)in-situhybridcompositescontainingLCMCwithdifferentrelativemolecularweightwerepreparedbymoldingtechnique.Theirmechanicalpropertiesweresystemicallyinvestigatedatafixed5wt%LCMCconcentration.Theresultsshowedthatcomparedtotheunmodifiedsystems,theimpactstrengthofthecompositeswasenhancedby62.0%(n=50),thebendingstrengthwasenhancedby31.3%(n=10),andbendingmoduluswasenhancedby30.8%(n=10).
