Novelpolyimide(PI)3waspreparedfrom4,4’-diaminodiphenyl-4”-tert-butyltolueneand3,3’,4,4’-biphenyltetracarboxylicdianhydrideviaaone-stephigh-temperaturepolycondensation.TheobtainedPI3showedgoodsolubilityinmanycommonsolventssuchasNMP,DMAc,andchloroform.Theresultingstrongandflexiblefilmexhibitedhighthermalstabilitywiththeglasstransitiontemperatureat359°Candthetemperatureat10%weightlossbeyond502°Cinbothairandnitrogenatmospheres.Moreover,thefilmalsoshowedhighopticaltransparency,withanUVcutoffwavelengthintherangeof374nmandthetransparencyat450nmmorethan80%.
