Anewandsimpleprocesstomanufacturesilvernanowiresandsurface-enhancedRamanscattering(SERS)substratebyelectrospinningtechniquehasbeensuccessfullydeveloped.ThisprocessutilitiedelectrospinningtechniquetoprepareAgN03/PVAprecursornanofiberfirstly.TheAg+ionswithinPVAnanofiberwerereducedtoone-dimensionalsilvernanowiresalongthefiber-templatebyheatingprocess.Weinvestigatedtheeffectsofreductiontemperatureonsilverwires,thenweusedthehighspeeddrawingdeviceasthecollectorintheelectrospinningsystemandinvestigatedtheeffectsofPVAchainorientationonthemorphologyofsilver.Finally,theAg/PVAnanofibercompositewasasSERSsubstrate.TherelationshipbetweenSERSintensityandthereductiontemperatureandPVAchainorientationhasbeeninvestigatedfor4-mercaptobenzoicacid(4-MBA)moleculeadsorbedonSERSsubstrate.SilvernanowireswerecharacterizedusingX-raydiffraction(XRD),transmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM),andUV-Visabsorptionspectroscopy.TheresultsshowedthataspectratioofsilvernanowireswerecontrolledbytwoimportantfactorswhichwerereductiontemperatureandorientationofpolymerchaininPVAnanofiber.Thehighratioofsilvernanowireswasobtainedunderreductiontimewith5minutesat800Canddrawingspeedwas6000rpm.Then,theresultsalsoshowthatSERSintensityandmorphologyofsilverarecloselylinkedandinseparable.
