Anovelthermoplasticelastomer(TPE)wasappliedinthemeasurementofextravehicularliquidcoolinggarmentandthesatisfyingresultinimprovingtheheatdissipatingcapacityofgarmentwasachieved.ThesynthesisofTPEwasstudiedanditspropertieswerecomparedwithotherpolymers,suchashightemperaturevulcanizedsiliconerubber(HTV),medicalusedsiliconrubber(MSR),thermoplasticpolyurethane(TPU)andethylene-vinylacetatecopolymer(EVA).Toevaluatetheperformanceofthesematerials,aseriesofexperimentscharacterizingmaterial’smechanicalandthermodynamicpropertieswasperformed,includingDSC,TGA,tensile,compression,thermalinsulationtestsandsoon.Meanwhile,fuzzymathematicmethodwasemployedtoanalyzeexperimentalparameters’weightdistribution,andthenfuzzydecision-makingmethodwasadoptedtoperformevaluation,whichshowedthatTPEhadsatisfyingoptimalperformanceandcanbeusedassimulatedskininthermalmanikin.Finally,thecomparativeexperimentsofliquidcoolinggarmentbythermalmanikincoveringwithTPEsimulatedskinandwithoutcoveringwithTPEsimulatedskinwereperformed,itwasapprovedthattheTPEsimulatedskincanimprovegarment’sheatdissipatingcapacitygreatly.
