Engineeringplasticscontainingphthalazinonemoietiesareaseriesofnovelhighperformancethermoplastics.Besidestheirexcellentcomprehensiveproperties,theyhaveoutstandingthermalresistanceandreasonablesolubilityinsomeaproticpolarorganicsolventsbecauseoftheirhetero-aromatictwistandnon-coplanarchemicalstructures.Allofthesemakethemhaveattractiveprospectsintheapplicationofpolymermatrixhighperformancecomposites,heat-resistantinsulatingmaterialsandhigh-performancemembranematerials.Hereinthecriticalreviewdescribestheprogressoftheirapplicationsinfiberreinforcedhighperformancecomposites.
