Poly(propylenecarbonate)(PPC),acopolymerofcarbondioxide(CO2)andpropyleneoxide,wasfirstsynthesizedbyInoueandcoworkersin1969.1Overthepastdecades,considerableattentionshavebeenpaidtothedevelopmentofhighefficientcatalyststopreparethismaterialduetotheeffectivefixationandrecyclingofCO2.2ThecompletebiodegradabilityandlowcostmakePPCpotentiallysuitableforreplacinguniversalplasticsasone-offpackagingmaterialtoreducetheamountofpolyolefinwaste.
