Orientationbehaviorofcarbonfibers(CFs)inpolymersolution/gelundermagneticfieldwasestimatedintermsoftheorientationdistributionfunction.1)Theestimationwasdonebyaseriesofsphericalharmonicsoftheorientationdistributionfunctionofthereciprocallatticevectorofthe(002)planemeasuredforthecompositefilms.DespiteanumberofpapersconcerningtheorientationofCFsandcarbonnanotubesundermagneticfield,allestimationshavebeendoneintermsofthesecondorderorientationfactorofthe(002)plane.ThispaperwasfirstlysuccessfulforthedirectestimationoforientationofCFaxeswithinthedriedfilmintermsoforientationfunctionbyconsideringarandomorientationoftheCFaxesaroundthemagneticfielddirection.
