Polymerdiffusion[1,2]isaubiquitousphenomenonthatdictatesagreatnumberofdynamicprocessesincludingadhesion,phaseseparationthroughspinodaldecomposition,andmixing.Suchdiffusionisimportantforblendsofmiscible,yetchemicallydissimilar,polymerswhereitcontrolsthekineticsofphaseseparationandtheweldingofpolymerinterfaces.Suchastudyaboutthediffusionoftwopolymerchainsinthemeltisalsoimportantfromtheindustrialviewpoint.Forexample,thestrengthoftheconnectionpartofahybridpipeisdeterminedbytheformationprocessoftheaggregatedstructureofdifferentkindsofpolymerchainsinthevicinityoftheconnectionpart.
